Northwest Cancer Summit 2008
Two days and two tracks comprehensively
address the issues survivors face and the
impact cancer has on the individual and on
the community.
Cancer Care Resources and our partners cordially invite you to attend our Northwest Cancer Summit. Designed for cancer survivors as well as business leaders and policy makers, the Summit focuses on cancer survivorship issues.
Day 1 provides cancer survivors with new methods of communicating their cancer story. Learn about the power of that story, develop the skills to communicate to various audiences, give and receive support from your network of other cancer survivors, enhance advocacy skills and participate locally and nationally for change.
Day 2 provides business and community leaders the opportunities to discuss the effects of cancer in the workplace and in public policy. An overview of healthcare policy and cancer survivorship issues will be covered, with afternoon breakout sessions.
• Track 1 provides employers and employees an understanding of federal and state laws that protect cancer survivors in the workplace and provides strategies for employers and employees to work together to their mutual advantage.
• Track 2 allows for open dialogue between employers, insurance companies and policy makers interested in how cancer and cancer survivorship will impact the community. It is time to join together to help each other.
